 The Federal Government has identified Tukur Mamu, a publisher from Kaduna, along with 14 others, as individuals involved in financing terrorism within the country. Mamu has been detained by the Department of State Services (DSS) since September 2022  Among the identified financiers are nine individuals and six Bureau De Change (BDC) operators and firms  FCT, Abuja — The Nigerian Sanctions Committee has complied with the Federal Government's orders and disclosed the names of 15 entities, including nine individuals and six Bureau De Change firms.  These entities are facing sanctions due to suspicions of involvement in financing terrorism.  1.  ...orders accelerated hearing of the Alleged Terrorism / Treasonable Felony Case. Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court Abuja, on Tuesday, denied bail to the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.  The court, however, ordered accelerated hearing of the case involved in the embattled IPOB leader who is facing charges bordering on treasonable felony. Kanu , who was brought to the court on Tuesday, has been in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) since his arrest in June 2021. Delivering ruling, Justice Nyako held that the court would only grant an accelerated hearing in the matter and ordered the prosecution to call its first witness. In a release signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Kazie Uko and made public to the press, Dr. Eno will be taking over from retired Permanent Secretary Elizabeth Esochaghi who was appointed by the immediate past Administration of Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu.   New Cement Price Emerges as BUA Announces Decline in Profit amid Foreign Exchange.  A few weeks after announcing a price slash due to the federal government's intervention, one of Nigeria's biggest cement manufacturers, BUA Cement, declared an N67.23 billion profit before tax for 2023.  The company said it recorded a decline of 44% from the N120.15 billion reported in 2022, attributing it to N69.96 billion foreign exchange loss in 2023 from the N5.5 billion reported in 2022.  BUA approves juicy dividends for shareholders The cement firm also declared a profit after tax of N69.45 billion in 2023 from N101.01 billion in 2022, amid N2.23 billion income announced and deferred tax credit posted in 2023 from N19.14 billion tax expenses reported in 2022.  ThisDay reports that the cement firm's board of directors recommended for shareholders' approval a payment of N2.00 dividend per share of 50 kobo each out of the profits declared in the financial year 2022.  Despite increas

  The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) says it has concluded plans for an immediate reshuffling of directors across Secretariats, Department and Agencies (SDAs). The move, which takes effect immediately, following the swearing in of the pioneer Head of Service, Permanent Secretaries of the FCTA, Chairman and members of the FCT Civil Service Commission, is expected to help enforce efficiency within the system. Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike, who gave the revelation during the swearing in ceremony, advised the directors to accept their new postings in good faith, stating that there’s going to be reshuffling across all sectors of the FCTA. “Immediately after now, the Head of Service will send out the postings of Directors. I have said that there will be total reshuffling in all areas, and I’m going to implement it this afternoon,” he said.
