OPINION: UMUNNEATO AGENDA IS AN EVIL FUEL BY GREED - ONOH CHUKWUMA

 


The only unity step to be embarked upon by the governor of Abia State is to allow equity and fairness to have its natural place which is to return power to Abia North Senatorial District as the only Equitable Equity.



Power rotation is a circular flow that if broken will bring about great injustice to those whose turn it's to produce the head to the seat of power.

The creation of Abia state invalidated the bloc sharing of Abia State as zones and returned it to senatorial Districts which is also the base of power rotation in other states that practice power rotation.

Abia North took her turn in 1999 which came to an eight years end in 2007 and Abia Central took over from 2007 to 2015 to complete the circular flow and to be considered equity, power was rotated to Abia South district in the year 2015 till now and it was made possible through the doggedness of the then governor of Abia State, H.E T.A. Orji by opening anointing in the open the candidacy of the current government to ensure that every district is not left out in contributing their quota to the state-building.


It's evil to truncate the circular flow of the power-sharing formula with the lame excuse of Abia state being shared in two blocks citing the charter of 1981 sharing of the state in four Districts which formed the acronym A.B.IA that means Aba zone, Bende zone, Isukwuato zone, and Afikpo zone. By the ceding of Afikpo to Ebonyi State, Okigwe to Imo State, Abia state ceases to recognize blocs that exist in the charter that birthed Her and only recognizes the demarcation of the State into Senatorial Districts which is also the political demarcation recognized by the center as a unit of government and in furtherance, The Senatorial district forms the arm of lawmaking and produces a senator as against the two blocs been cited as the valid demarcation which only exists in power-grabbing than in reality.

It's pure greed to seize power in the name of Old Aba zone and Old Bende zone and those propagating such anti-progress are bent on disuniting us and their sole aim is to throw the state into crisis that will arise from the marginalization of other Districts. The plot is antipeople and nobody of sound mind and good conscience will support it except those who want to reap under crisis.


The governor is hereby advised to heed to calls for power to be shifted back to where it started to give every district a sense of belongingness and not stop the impending crisis that will arise when Abia North is hand-twisted to please the greed of Umunneato who are bent to retain power in Ngwa land through manipulations and blackmail.
