HUMILITY IS A VIRTUE



A time for a politician to give stewardship of what he has done for the people is always a discomforting moment for a politician who has refused to take home the dividends of democracy. But if you fail to better the lives of the people under your watch, what else would you do with the resources allocated to your office? But, come to think of it, why are the electorates demanding a lot from aspirants, when they know they will benefit from any aspirant who wins at the end of the day? That, of course, has made politcal campaigns expensive in Nigeria. A section of a crowd would heap the blame on unfaithful politicians, who had betrayed them in the past. Most often, politicians do not account for their stewardship out of sheer arrogance and pomposity.


Funny enough, the most-generous may not be the most-loved. That is the irony of politics. But what could make a people love a politician genuinely, ready to stick out their necks? It is only when they have seen humility and sincerity in a person that they can go extra mile to see to his success or victory. Humility is a virtue goes with genuineness of purpose. It takes humility to submit to people and be accountable to them. Truth be told, the humble attribute of Barrister Emmanuel Ukweni, which is shown in the way he conducts himself and relate with others cannot be overemphasized.Pastor Emmanuel Mba Ukweni is well known for his humble disposition at all times.This natural deposit in him has triggered immeasurable love in the Constituents, and even the ones, who belong to other politcal parties, want to associate with Barrister Emmanuel Ukweni. A people, who had come in contact with Barrister Emmanuel Ukweni, had attested to his uncommon humility and resounding personality, after they had had a vivacious moment with him. There shouldn't be need for vituperation, in this regard.


Now that Barrister Emmanuel Ukweni is vying for an elective position, the burden is on the shoulders of the people of Ohafia South Constituency to show love to their own, and help him be their representative in the Abia Assembly come 2023, knowing full well that he will by his humble nature remain loyal and accountable to the people when he gets into power.He may not be perfect, but he is a man of outstanding humility. Of course, perfection is linked with divinity. At present, the atmosphere is charged, and many a party are getting ready for their primary elections. It is the wish of Barrister Emmanuel Ukweni that the Constituents within the party should give him a lift, knowing full well that he is the only aspirant who has the influence and muscle to compete with other aspirants in other political parties notwitstanding his humble disposition.He has what matters most. In view of the fact that Pastor Emmanuel Mba Ukweni has proved himself trustworthy and and humble, he should be given the opportunity to do more for his people in order to justify the trust reposed in him.
