THE GAINS OF FOLLOWERSHIP

By Ugochukwu Asiegbu.

In politics, the assessment of one's influence or power depends on the number of people following him, who are ready to challenge any opposing force, with the aim of protecting the man they are looking up to. And when the number reduces, it shows you are no longer in control of your followers, maybe because of gross misconduct or self-centeredness. All things being equal, a politician favours his followers every now and then, basking in their praises. And at any point in time, his state of euphoria could lead him into parting with some money so as to make his followers happy. So, followership attracts rewards, no matter how little it seems to be.

Narrowing it down, winning elections and being a member of Abia Assembly is a task that must be accomplished. Be assured that your support for Barrister Emmanuel Ukweni can never be in vain, provided he succeeds at the end of the day to be your representative in the State House. A labourer is entitled to his wages and, in politics, the dividends of democracy are certain. With this in mind, I urge all followers of Barrister Emmanuel Ukweni to remain resolute, and keep supporting him. Given the fact that the aspirant has the milk of human kindness in him, your support for him will surely yield some fruits in the end.

More, it is advisable you pitch your tent in Barrister Emmanuel Ukweni's camp, and change the story of the Constituency. The task, assumingly, is enormous, but with the support of the people of Ohafia South Constituency, any challenge will be nipped in the bud. That is the strength of followership, and Barrister Emmanuel Ukweni is not ignorant of this fact. Remember, no man makes himself great. Rather, it is the people who make him great. Therefore, it is of utmost importance to Barrister Emmanuel Ukweni that you support him all the way until it is "uhuru". Hullabaloo! Keep supporting him, for he is the best.
