2023: ABA TRADERS PLEDGE MAXIMUM SUPPORT TO ABIA GOVERNOR, ENDORSE PROF. IKONNE AS GUBER CANDIDATE

 An amalgamation of traders in the major economic city of Abia, Aba on Thursday, pledged maximum support to the leadership of Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu Ph.D, endorsing Prof. Uchenna Ikonne as their guber candidate.





The traders under the aegis of All Market Alliance (AMA) and Uche Ndi Ahia, led Mrs. Ngozi Uzosike made this known today during a courtesy call to the office of the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Executive Governor, Chief Barr. Kalu Olugu Ugba.

The coordinator said that they unanimously support the Governor’s administration in appreciation of the State Government’s business policies and infrastructure development which support their trades.

While appreciating the Governor for appointing Chief Barr. Kalu Olugu as his Deputy Chief of Staff, the group also endorsed Prof. Uchenna Eleazor Ikonne as their guber candidate for the2023 national election.

The group comprises of representatives from Ariaria International Market, Ngwa Road Market, Uratta Timber, Cemetery Market, Asa Nnentu Market, Uratta Integrated Market and Eke Akpara Market.

On his part, the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor, Chief Barr. Kalu Olugu Ugba described the endorsement of Prof. Ikonne as a mark of general acceptance of his administrative competence and experience to deliver ‘Greater Abia’ and strengthen the culture of good governance for which the state is reputed.  

Olugu also said that traders remained prominent players in the economic growth of the state, noting that Abia’s development narrative would not be complete without the mention of the entrepreneurial spirit of the traders.





He also promised not to take the marketers support for granted while re-assuring them of the Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu’s continued collaboration to create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.
