The Iroko does not often fall  easily but when it does, the sound reverberate beyond boundaries; just as I received the shocking news of the passing on of the Ezie Ohamoha, the Ebiri of Elu, traditional ruler of Isiama Autonomous Community & Chairman of the Ohafia Council of Monarchs, His Royal Paramountcy, late Prof Emmanuel Ume Lekwa Imaga, Udumeze Ohafia which occurred early in January, 2024.

His scholarly disposition, the strength of character & capacity he brought to bear on the throne quickened the desired unity among the Monarchs which fast tracked the cordiality of purpose necessary for the development of Ohafia. He was known for his frankness on nutty issues particularly the security of the people.

Amongst his contemporaries in the academia, his indelible foot prints are manifest even for the upcoming generation to see. He was a fine gentleman with a reticent demeanor whose silence speaks volumes.
